Spring 2007 Interview with Fiona Fox

Stempra newsletter
I am unashamedly focussing my piece in this newsletter to giving a plug to both the forthcoming AGM and associated open discussion event (Tuesday 20 March 2007). You should have all received the notice of the AGM and event last week - and it's also included with this newsletter. Whilst AGM's are rarely the most exciting events, they are an important forum to ensure that all members can contribute to the running of the Association and very importantly, review and/or comment on the work of the Committee. At this year's AGM, we also need to recruit new members for the Committee - so please do contact me if you're interested in contibuting to the work of Stempra. It can be both fun and useful. The open discussion event is also going to be a vital forum for members to debate and decide on the way forward for Stempra. Stempra has enjoyed great success over its 13 years - and I'm sure that we'd all like that success to continue. But both the market and the people involved in communications in SET have changed dramatically over that period. The discussion event is a way of addressing what has changed and whether Stempra may need to adapt a little or radically to address the situation. We're not suggesting that members come to this exercise "cold". I'm in the process of finalising a brief strategy paper which the Committee will be reviewing this week and I'll be sharing that paper with you all before our event on 20 March. This should give you all "food for thought", perhaps provoke rage but at the very least provide everyone with ideas to knock about or pull down in favour of other suggestions. Also remember that the event on 20 March is a free networking/social occasion for members with a buffet supper and wine! All you need to do is email me to attend. Many thanks to those of you who have already done this and to those who are going to actively contribute. Updates of those attending and contributing will follow soon and I look forward to seeing you all in March.
