Stempra, the organisation that supports those working in science press and PR, is celebrating receiving its 200th new membership application since the start of this year. Membership secretary, Robbie Walker, said, "We have managed to double our membership over the last couple of years, I don't think Stempra has ever had this many members" "This rise is unprecedented," added Stempra chair, Katrina Nevin-Ridley. "It is undoubtedly down to our growing reputation for vibrant, engaging events and the excellent networking opportunities they offer. We look forward to doubling our numbers again." Stempra regularly holds networking and professional development events for press and PR professionals. Previous events have focused on blogging, encouraging scientist to speak out and an 'idiot's guide' to networking.
