Stempra AGM 2007
The AGM minutes and reports can be found by following the links at the foot of this page.
Our thanks go to Juliet Upton who has chaired the committee for the last six years. The STEM PR world has changed radically during this time and Juliet has not allowed Stempra to rest on its laurels, but led its thinking on how to respond to this change. Juliet has put a great deal of hard work into Stempra's new strategy document, informed by two consultations with the STEM community (one to members and one to non-members), one-to-one talks with thought leaders and much discussion.
Juliet writes, "I have very much enjoyed my 'offices' with Stempra - first as Secretary in the early nineties and latterly as Chair for
six years. This has been a month of goodbyes from international leaders
- Tony Blair and Jacques Chirac come to mind! Whilst I am clearly not
in the same league, I can reiterate Blair's comment that enough is
enough - the members deserve a change and I deserve a break!
Thank you to all members of Stempra who have supported both the
organisation and me over the years. I am delighted that I can continue to be a member - albeit a less active one. I wish Katrina and the new Committee much success in the coming years and look forward to enjoying more networking, events, meeting many more new members and seeing the reputation of Stempra in the STEM community go from strength to strength."
Thanks also go to departing committee members, Faye Stokes, Peter Green, Andrew McLaughlin and Joe Meaney. We welcome new committee members; Simon Levey, Laura Miles, Judith Moore and Hazel Morris.
