Event planner

Below is the list of Stempra's planned events for the coming year. We welcome suggestions for other events, as we are aiming to host one a month. Ideas have already been put forward by various members, and we'll be posting information on our website as dates and venues are firmed up.

- Outrun by outreach: Drowning in press releases?

- The political landscape: What comes next?

- Evaluating media coverage

Following the success of our events in Edinburgh, Manchester and York, we are looking to organise more events away from London. If you have suggestions for an event in your local area, please contact us on events@stempra.org.uk

About Stempra Events

Stempra organises a number of events, which are open to members and non-members.

The aim of our events programme is to create opportunities to meet others working in public relations and identify ways to improve how we promote the science, engineering, technology and medical fields and raise standards across the profession.

We hold around six events per year which range from discussions meetings, ‘meet the expert’ evenings and networking events. Previous events have covered topics such as crisis management, blogs and radio interview techniques. Our ‘audience with’ evenings have provided members with the opportunity to meet, among others, national journalists and photo editors.

Stempra also organize more informal events for members and prospective members to meet and swap notes over a drink. These bimonthly social evenings usually begin with a short presentation on a current issue to break the ice, followed by an opportunity to have a discussion, get know people and share advice.

We always strive to make our events relevant to the needs of our membership, and we are always open to suggestions on topics you feel would aid your professional development or improve aspects of your day-to-day job.

If you would like to suggest an event idea or topic which you feel would be helpful to you and others, please email your suggestions to Jenny Gimpel
